Milwaukee County executive candidates CHRIS ABELE and JEFF STONE are participating in two candidate forums next week. Stone and Abele will participate in the candidate forum sponsored by the Garden District Neighborhood Association on Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 5890 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee. Abele and Stone will also participate in candidate forums on Tuesday at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Abele is scheduled to speak at 7:30 a.m. in the UWM Union, Wisconsin Room, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd. Stone is scheduled to speak at the Union’s Wisconsin Room at 8:45 a.m. the same day. The events are open to the general public and those attending may submit written questions in advance of the forum at the meeting room.

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce will host Transportation Secretary MARK GOTTLEIB for a "Blueprint Briefing" event on April 7, followed by an event with U.S. Commerce Secretary GARY LOCKE on April 12. See details here: http://bit.ly/dOAnAA.

Organizers this week delivered recall petitions with at least 1,700 signatures against Milwaukee Ald. JAMES WITKOWIAK, the Milwaukee Election Commission said. A minimum of 1,040 valid signatures would trigger a recall in the south side’s 12th district.

Three Milwaukee-area health care leaders will be presented with Champion in Women’s Health Awards by the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation on May 7.
