The U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago on Tuesday upheld the conviction of former Milwaukee Ald. MICHAEL McGEE on federal corruption charges despite the improper use of a telephone wiretap recording as evidence. See the opinion: http://www.ca7.uscourts.gov/tmp/ZJ0TYK7S.pdf.

A judicial panel has recommended that Cudahy Judge JOHN ZODROW be reprimanded for allowing a backlog of some 3,500 citations to build up. The panel wrote that its recommendation would have been “much more severe” for Zodrow if he were still on the bench. He lost his re-election bid this spring, and his last day in office was April 30.
