Mitchell street library

Learn more about:

A partnership of Gorman & Co., Mitchell Investment Properties and VJS Construction Services Inc. are planning a $10.4 million project to redevelop the 95-year-old, four-story Hills Building at 906-10 W. Historic Mitchell St. with a 15,000-square-foot space for a Milwaukee Public Library branch and 33 affordable housing apartments. The project is recently recommended for approval by the Milwaukee Public Library Board of Trustees. The library branch would replace the existing Forest Home Library at 1432 W. Forest Home Ave.  The project proposal is a response to an RFP issued by city officials, which want to see several libraries in the city become part of mixed-use developments.
