Mary Ellen Stanek, of Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. and Baird Advisors, has been named to the board of directors of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., the nonprofit corporation that hosts Summerfest.
The board of directors and Chairman Ted Kellner elected Stanek to the board during a March 7 meeting.
Stanek is managing director and director of asset management for Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird and chief investment officer of Baird Advisors. She also serves as president of the Baird Funds.
“Mary Ellen is a key business leader that brings 35 years of investment management experience and leadership to the Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and our Board,” Kellner said. “We are pleased to have her join us.”
Additionally, Stanek belongs to the boards of Baird Financial Group, Robert W. Baird & Co., Journal Communications, Northwestern Mutual, West Bend Mutual Insurance Co. and Wisconsin Energy Corp. Philanthropically, she serves on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Children’s Hospital Foundation, Medical College of Wisconsin, Junior Achievement and United Way.
“Mary Ellen has extensive experience as a chartered financial analyst, she is active in our community and is a fan of Summerfest,” said Don Smiley, president and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival. “Her background will provide the Board with insight and vision in all facets of our business.”
