The number of homes sold in the metro Milwaukee area increased by 18.7 percent in July to 1,978 homes sold, compared to 1,666 homes sold in the area in July of 2012, according to the latest report from the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors.

July home sales in Waukesha County were up by 134 to 639, a 26.5 percent increase. Sales in Milwaukee County were up 10.2 percent to 991. Sales in Washington County were up 40 percent to 203. Sales in Ozaukee County were up 23.9 percent to 145.

“Projections for the remainder of 2013 show the year ending with 18,071 total sales,” said GMAR president Mike Ruzicka. “That would place 2013 about even with 2003 when there were 18,117 sales, and 8.67 percent ahead of 2012’s 16,579 sales.”
