Strategem acquires Axel-Lloyd

Menomonee Falls-based information technology consulting company Stratagem has acquired Axel-Lloyd & Associates, a Milwaukee-based IT consulting company with local and national clients.
The acquisition will expand Stratagem’s presence in Wisconsin, where the company currently serves clients from its offices in Menomonee Falls, Madison and Appleton.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
For the immediate future, Axel-Lloyd will retain its name and corporate identity and will have access to Stratagem’s larger base of IT consulting staff and clients.
Axel-Lloyd provides business solutions, including IT planning and assessment, business process consulting, Microsoft-centric applications development and deployment, Microsoft business programs and Web development services, to its Fortune 1000 and middle-market client base in the manufacturing, publishing, travel and leisure and nonprofit sectors.
"We welcome the leadership, skilled managers and IT professionals who have driven Axel-Lloyd’s success," said Gary L. Krieger, Stratagem’s founder, CEO and president. "We are excited about providing expanded consulting skills, experience and resources to our clients, offering them a wider range of services and economies of scale. We also look forward to additional opportunities for all of our consultants to broaden their professional development in project and solutions-based work."
Axel-Lloyd was established March 1, 2002, by Bob Landgren, who previously was a regional executive for IT companies marchFIRST and divine, covering the area market from offices in Wauwatosa. Earlier, he was a managing partner for Whittman-Hart’s Wisconsin offices, based in downtown Milwaukee.
"Axel-Lloyd has grown at a gratifying rate since its inception 18 months ago," said Landgren. "Now, joining forces with a recognized leader in our local market, we have additional resources to continue our growth."
Stratagem, privately held, has provided IT planning and implementation services since 1986.
