John Olin named CFO of Harley

Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Inc. has named John Olin senior vice president and chief financial officer.

Olin, 48, has served as interim CFO of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since May 1, 2009, and as Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s vice president and controller since joining the organization in May 2003.

"John is a seasoned financial executive with domestic and global experience who is deeply knowledgeable about our business," said Keith Wandell, president and CEO of Harley-Davidson, Inc. "He has also demonstrated strong leadership in guiding our financial group as interim CFO. After conducting a thorough review of internal and external candidates for this key leadership position, we are pleased to name John CFO and I look forward to continuing to work with him and the rest of our management team as we lead Harley-Davidson forward."

As CFO, Olin will report to Wandell and have responsibility for all Harley-Davidson financial and treasury operations, as well as for investor relations, aviation and information systems.

Olin has more than 25 years of financial leadership experience. Before joining Harley-Davidson, Olin served for 12 years in various domestic and global financial roles at Kraft Foods, Oscar Mayer Foods and Miller Brewing Company, including his responsibilities as controller of Kraft Foods’ cheese division. Earlier in his career, he held positions with financial services and specialized consulting firms including Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young). Olin holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago.

Adams is new CEO of Rexnord’s parent company

RBS Global Inc., the parent company of Milwaukee-based Rexnord LLC, has appointed Todd Adams as president and chief executive officer of RBS Global and Rexnord.

Adams, 38, will be nominated for election as a member of the board of directors of RBS Global and Rexnord. Adams will succeed Robert Hitt, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

Adams joined Rexnord in 2004 as vice president, treasurer and director of financial reporting. Since that time he has played an increasingly vital role across the company while assuming greater levels of responsibility, leading to his appointment as senior vice president and chief financial officer in 2008. He assumed additional responsibility earlier in 2009 as president of Rexnord’s Water Management platform. Prior to joining Rexnord, Adams held various senior financial roles with The Boeing Company, APW Limited and Idex Corp.

George Sherman, Rexnord’s chairman, said, "I have worked with Todd for more than five years at Rexnord. His vision, business acumen, high level of expectation, passion for the Rexnord Business System and ability to execute have had a significant impact on the positive results of our company. In addition to Todd’s outstanding contributions as CFO, his recent experience running our Water Management Platform has demonstrated the leadership capability necessary to enable Rexnord to continue to outperform competition. He is surrounded by a very capable and experienced group of accomplished senior executives, and they have a talented team supporting them. I am highly confident in their ability to continue to evolve the company and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage in its served markets. I would like to wish Bob Hitt success in the future and thank him for his efforts and contributions in helping us achieve superior performance over the past seven years, and for his mentorship of Todd."

Adams said, "I am appreciative of the board’s confidence in me to assume the responsibility to lead Rexnord into the future. Our company is financially strong, and strategically well-positioned to deliver industry leading growth and performance. I am delighted to be working with George and such a capable team of associates at Rexnord. Together we will focus on superior customer satisfaction through the on-going development of our high-performance culture, based on the Rexnord Business System and our core values, to deliver outstanding performance to our customers and shareholders."

George Moore, executive vice president, will assume the role of acting CFO while an external search for a new CFO is completed. Moore was CFO of the company from 2006 to 2008.

Rexnord, which is the parent company of the Falk Corp. in Milwaukee, manufactures highly engineered power transmission and water management products.
