Gaco Western will hold a grand opening on June 12 for its new 85,000-square-foot expansion in Waukesha. The company, which makes waterproofing and insulation products, invested $6.5 million in the project at 1245 Chapman Drive. The addition will be used for inventory, replacing the company’s leased warehouse space in the area. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m., followed by refreshments and facility tours. Kikkoman Foods Inc. will host a Wisconsin-U.S.-Japan Economic Development Conference on Friday, June 7 at the Abbey Resort in Fontana. Gov. Scott Walker, John Schlifske, chairman and CEO of Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., Toshihiko Fukui, former governor of the Bank of Japan, Ryoki Sugita, chairman of the Japan Center for Economic Research and retired chairman and CEO of Nikkei Inc., and other dignitaries and leaders will speak at the event. Kikkoman is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Walworth soy sauce production facility.
