Milwaukee-based Managed Health Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Louis-based Centene Corporation, has been notified by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services that it is approved to offer health insurance coverage through the BadgerCare Plus program in southeastern Wisconsin.

“We are pleased to expand our offerings and, once again, serve BadgerCare Plus members in Southeast Wisconsin,” said Sherry Husa, MHS president and chief executive officer. “Our purpose is to transform the health of the community, one person at a time. To help accomplish this, we offer benefits that set us apart from other health plans, including enhanced vision benefits and member rewards for healthy habits. We have also earned a reputation with health care providers for timely payments and excellent customer service.”

Under the contract, MHS will begin serving low-income families in Milwaukee, Kenosha, Racine, Ozaukee and Waukesha counties, following a four-year absence from the BadgerCare Plus market in southeastern Wisconsin.
