Gingras, Cates & Wachs LLP, a Madison-based law firm, has opened a new office in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward.

GCW has three existing offices, in Madison, Waukesha and Eau Claire. The new office is located in the Phoenix Building at 219 N. Milwaukee St.

Attorneys Mark Thomsen and William Sulton will staff the new office. In addition to personal injury and civil rights, they will specialize in employment, family law and medical malpractice services.

The firm said in a release there was a need for the office because of “an influx of cases in Milwaukee.” Thomsen is representing the estate of Adam Trammell in a high-profile federal civil rights case. Trammell died in May 2017 after being tased by West Milwaukee police while he was in his shower.

“We are fortunate to have a home in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee where we can continue to serve our clients and help bring their story forward,” Thomsen said. “We are passionate and dedicated to serving all of Wisconsin, and this new addition helps us do just that.”
