Horton Group acquires HCSC
Health Care System Consultants (HCSC) of Milwaukee has been acquired by The Horton Group, an Orland Park, Ill.-based company.
The HCSC staff will join Horton’s Pewaukee office and form the new HCSC Division of Horton.

Tower Tech Holdings acquires South Dakota firm
Tower Tech Holdings Inc. (TWRT) of Manitowoc announced it has acquired Energy Maintenance Service LLC, a Gary, S.D.-based independent operations and maintenance company.
EMS is the wind energy industry’s leading full service provider with over 170 employees throughout the United States. The company’s offerings include erection, operations and maintenance, component-repairs and rebuilding of wind turbines. EMS is led by Joe Kolbach, who will continue as part of the leadership team at Tower Tech as president of the EMS subsidiary.

Metavante acquires London software company
Metavante Technologies Inc. , a Brown Deer-based provider of banking and payments technology, recently acquired Nomad Payments Limited, a London-based provider of prepaid and debit card processing and licensed software.
The purchase price was approximately $58 million. The acquisition is expected to add approximately 1 percent to Metavante’s 2008 revenue and have no significant impact on the company’s profitability in 2008.

Fiserv completes sale of health care businesses
UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group company, announced it has completed its acquisition of substantially all of Brookfield-based Fiserv Inc.’s health-related businesses.
The transaction includes: Fiserv Health, a leading administrator of medical benefits; Avidyn Health, a care facilitation business; and the Fiserv Health Specialty Solutions businesses. Fiserv Health’s Pharmacy Benefits Management business (PBM) Innoviant is also part of the transaction.

Sheboygan company acquires California firm
The Mayline Group, a Sheboygan-based designer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative office furniture, has acquired the AVA Furniture Group (AVA), a San Jose, Calif., designer and distributor of office furniture.
Mayline is a portfolio company of Milwaukee-based Baird Capital Partners. Mayline produces technology centers sold under the Mayline, Tiffany Industries  and Kwik-File brand names.

Leipold buys NHL’s Minnesota Wild

Racine resident Craig Leipold has agreed to purchase the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild from Minnesota Sports & Entertainment.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The final sale requires approval by the National Hockey League and other regulatory approvals.
Leipold recently sold another NHL team, the Nashville Predators, which he had owned since 1997.
Leipold and his wife, Helen Johnson-Leipold (chief executive officer of Johnson Outdoors Inc. and chairman of Johnson Financial Bank Corp.) reside in Racine.

Manpower acquires Middle East staffing firm
Milwaukee-based Manpower Inc. announced it has acquired Clarendon Parker Middle East FZ LLC (CPME), the largest professional recruitment provider in the Middle East.
The combined Manpower Middle East becomes the market leader for employment services in the region. CPME has operations in United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Joy Global to acquire conveyor systems company
Milwaukee-based Joy Global Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement with NES Group Inc. to acquire Continental Global Inc., a provider of conveyor systems for bulk material handling in mining and other industrial applications.
The purchase price will be $270 million.
Canonsburg, Pa.-based Continental designs, manufactures, installs and services highly engineered conveyor solutions for customers on six continents and has manufacturing facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa and Australia. Continental’s 2007 sales of conveyor equipment are expected to be approximately $340 million.
