Lake Express contributes to northern nonprofit organizations

Milwaukee-based Lake Express Ferry recently donated $15,702 to community organizations in Kewaunee and Frankfort Michigan as part of its recent “Northern Tour” in both communities.
Lake Express Ferry held it’s annual “Northern Tour” in June which allowed residents of each port to tour the ship. Visitors could also pay $10 for a short cruise on the boat. Proceeds from the cruise excursion benefitted the Lions Club and other organizations in both communities.
“We’re very pleased to help support local community organizations through our efforts in conducting the Northern Tour,” said Ken Szallai, president of Lake Express. “We were very excited to bring Lake Express to these ports and allow visitors the chance to experience firsthand what the ferry has to offer. Both communities were very welcoming and supportive as shown by the donations we’re able to make.”
Kewaunee Lions Club received $7,219, which included a $2,500 donation from Lake Express and Frankfort Lions Club, Mineral Springs Playground Fund and the Frankfort-Elberta Athletic Association will split $8,483 in donations which also included a $2,500 donation from Lake Express Ferry.
