Kohler to expand generator production in Wisconsin

Herb Kohler, chairman and chief executive officer of Kohler Co., announced the expansion of the company’s Global Power business at three locations in Wisconsin.

An extension will be added to the company’s production facility in the Town of Mosel, and over the next three years, more than 300 new jobs will be added at the firm’s facilities in Mosel, the Village of Saukville and the Village of Kohler.

“This investment reflects our commitment to provide homeowners and businesses with superior product and rapid delivery,” Kohler said.

Since 2011, there have been more than 5,000 power outages and more than 50 million homes and businesses affected in North America alone thus creating the charge for more demand in standby power. According to The Huffington Post, more than 8 million people were without power from Superstorm Sandy in 2012 and two weeks later more than 300,000 still remained powerless.

Kohler Power Systems is a division of Kohler Co., and provides complete power systems, including generators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, monitoring controls, and accessories for emergency, prime power and energy-management applications.
