Kohler begins large addition

Kohler Power Systems has started construction on a 100,000-square-foot addition to its Town of Mosel manufacturing plant.

The company plans to hire 300 employees at its facilities in Mosel, Saukville and Kohler over the next three years.

KPS, a division of Kohler-based Kohler Co., manufactures power systems, which include generators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, monitoring controls and emergency energy management accessories. The company is one of the largest generator manufacturers in the world.

“We have more than outgrown our current space,” said Larry Bryce, KPS president. “We expect the power generation industry and our share of the market to continue to grow. With the additional space we will reconfigure our production lines, expand capacity and centralize production of large industrial generators at this facility.”

The addition, expected to be completed in the spring, will be used for industrial and light commercial generator production for businesses like hospitals, data centers and convenience stores.

KPS’ Saukville facility will now focus on the production of automatic standby generators.
