Kacala to retire from Racine development post

The Racine County Economic Development Corporation announced that RCEDC executive director Gordy Kacala will retire July 31, 2014, after 24 years of service.

“Gordy has served RCEDC and the people of Racine County with dedication, and I wish him the best in his future endeavors” said current RCEDC president Tom Shinners, vice president of finance and human resources at Poclain Hydraulics.

Kacala said, “It has been a tremendous honor to serve this organization and work with all the extremely talented and dedicated public and private sector people at RCEDC and throughout Racine County. It also has been a privilege to work with the many Executive Committee and Board members who will continue to lead RCEDC.”

A search committee has been organized to identify and hire a new executive director of the organization. The committee, chaired by Tom Shinners, is comprised of members of the RCEDC board of directors.
