Jumpstart on the Weekend

*Friday, Feb. 14, the Cudahy Tourism Commission will present a “Sheridan Park Centennial Celebration.” The celebration will feature a dinner to honor the park’s 100th year as well as speeches from prominent Milwaukee-area figures. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Pulaski Inn, located at 3900 E. Pulaski Ave. in Cudahy. All attendees will take home a special booklet detailing the park’s history throughout the past century. Cost to attend is $30. Tickets can be purchased at BMO Harris Bank on the corner of Packard and Layton Avenues or from County Supervisor Pat Jursik at 414-278-4231.

*Saturday, Feb. 15, The Oilerie Brookfield will celebrate its five-year anniversary with an event featuring door prizes, gifts, food samples and product specials. The celebration will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the store, located at 17125C W. Bluemound Rd. in Brookfield. Fava Tea Company, a neighbor of The Oilerie Brookfield, will also hold a celebration to salute its one-year anniversary with specials on tea products and a giveaway with each customer purchase. Fava Tea Company is located at 17115 W. Blue Mound Rd. in Brookfield.

*Saturday, Feb. 15, and Sunday, Feb. 16, Cedarburg will host its 40th annual Winter Festival, themed “Snolympics” in honor of the Winter Olympics. The weekend festival will showcase a number of family-friendly events in downtown Cedarburg, including an ice sculpture contest, a charity golf tournament, sledding, crafts, came rides, a chili contest, a parade and more.
