- Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, March 19 Anime Milwaukee 2012 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and the Frontier Airlines Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave. The event is founded by the Japanese Animation Association at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and celebrates the culture of Japan, Japanese animation and comics as well as other sub-cultures. The event will feature industry guests, informative fan and guest panels, masquerade contests, children’s programming, the Hoshi No Yume maid café, Lolita fashion show, rave dance, karaoke and more. - Saturday, Feb. 18 Food & Froth beer festival will be held at the Milwaukee Public Museum, 800 W. Wells St., from 7 to 10 p.m. Cost to attend is $70 or $55 for museum members.
