Tom Hefty, retired chief executive officer of Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Wisconsin, will discuss his recently co-authored report on the Wisconsin economy at the Thursday, Sept. 10, meeting of WIN-Milwaukee.
Hefty, former member of the Wisconsin Technology Council board and the former co-chairman of Gov. Jim Doyle’s Economic Growth Council, believes state economic development policies have largely failed to create jobs and raise family incomes.
"Hefty will discuss metrics that compare Wisconsin’s economy to those in other states – and offer some ideas for how the state can regain momentum in sectors where he sees significant decline," said Tom Still, president of the Tech Council.
The meeting will be held at Brookfield Suites Hotel and Convention Center, 1200 S. Moorland Road. Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for students, $25 for WIN members, $35 for non-members and included with WIN corporate memberships.
