Highland Avenue will become its own waterpark next week as Slide the City brings a “king-sized” slip ‘n slide to the avenue to help Milwaukee residents beat the July heat.
The massive waterslide, which will feature a slippery surface running three city blocks, will be set up in Milwaukee on Saturday, July 25, and will give residents an opportunity to ride inflatable tubes down the slide.
The slide will operate on July 25 only during a family-friendly event that will also include music provided by Virgin Radio, onsite vendors and giveaways.
A share of the event proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army. Slide the City is an event-based organization that hosts water parties across the world. The organization backs local nonprofits with each of its events.
The Milwaukee event, the first of its kind for the city, will kick off at 10 a.m. Interested riders can purchase a one, three or super slider pass and should plan to sign up before Wednesday, July 22. Pricing starts at $20.
