Franco takes over helm of Hispanic Chamber

Jorge Franco has officially taken over leadership of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin as president and chief executive officer.

Franco succeeds Maria Monreal-Cameron, who retired from the HCCW  last September after heading the nonprofit membership organization since 1989.

Monreal-Cameron was a celebrated leader who, in addition to being named the 2013 BizTimes Woman Executive of the Year, was honored with the TEMPO Milwaukee Mentor Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce & Latina Style Magazine during her career.

In the chamber’s November 2013 newsletter, Franco wrote, “As the HCCW’s new chief executive officer, I am honored to be of service to this organization that is so vital to the advancement and success of our Hispanic community. Working together with you, we can achieve new heights based upon a solid foundation and a shared vision for the future.

The HCCW serves more than 500 members in greater Milwaukee with an aim to foster business development and collaboration among Hispanic enterprises.
