Bombardier Recreational Products Inc., parent company of Sturtevant-based outboard engine manufacturer Evinrude, has invited the public to attend its annual Evinrude dealer meeting in downtown Milwaukee on June 14 and 15.

Dealers from around the world will gather to learn about new products, participate in business seminars, tour the Sturtevant campus and view BRP’s marine industry innovations at Club Evinrude 2014.

On Saturday, June 14, the company will host a free public block party beginning at noon on Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee. Lunch, music and entertainment will be provided, and the event runs until 11 p.m.

On Sunday, June 15, the public is invited to view product displays and demonstrations in the Wisconsin Center. Pro bass anglers, fishing and boating experts will be demonstrating from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m.

“BRP is known for its innovation,” said Alain Villemure, vice president and general manager of BRP Marine Propulsion Systems. “Our design and engineering teams have consistently designed and built the most cutting-edge technologies in the business. Dealers attending this Club event will see and experience firsthand how we intend to create a new era of outboards.

“We already know our dealers are our best brand ambassadors. With this event, we get to show them our appreciation by offering a completely new range of products and an unforgettable entertainment experience right here in our backyard, the birthplace of the outboard engine.”

BRP recently completed a $15 million renovation of its Sturtevant facility to consolidate operations there from Waukegan, Ill. While the physical footprint was not expanded, significant machinery and systems upgrades were made. The 500,000-square-foot facility now has about 430 employees.
