East Troy-based motorcycle manufacturer Erik Buell Racing has introduced its newest model, the EBR 1190SX.
The company describes the motorcycle as a “true naked streetfighter-style sport bike” with the highest streetfighter performance on the market. It has a V-twin engine rated at 185 crankshaft horsepower and more than 100 pounds/foot of torque.
“The streetfighter classification, which was so revolutionary when we first came to market, is now being used by marketing people for all sorts of motorcycles, including some thinly-disguised standard bikes that have de-tuned or obsolete powertrains,” said company founder and chief technical officer Erik Buell. “So, perhaps the appropriate new name for a bike like the 1190SX is, ‘Superfighter.'”
The 1190SX has an athletic upright riding position, wider handlebars for easy handling and minimalist bodywork for less weight. It has a suggested retail price of $16,995 and will come in white, red and black. It will be shipped to EBR dealers early this month.
