Deutsch & Sons to move from West Milwaukee to Pewaukee

Miller Park Way building to be demolished, redeveloped for retail space

Organizations:

After more than 70 years in West Milwaukee, a specialty prototype manufacturer is moving to Pewaukee to make way for more retail development on Miller Park Way.

Deutsch & Sons Company, Inc. sold its building at 2172 Miller Park Way to an affiliate of Milwaukee-based Greywolf Partners Inc. for $1 million. The property is assessed at $419,400, according to Milwaukee County records.

Taylor Deutsch, president of the 96-year-old, fourth-generation family-run company said Greywolf made the family an offer they couldn’t refuse.

The sale has allowed Deutsch & Sons Company, Inc. to purchase a 10,000-square-foot building at N29 W22885 Marjean Lane in Pewaukee and buy more equipment. The company might also add two or three more people to its eight-person staff, Deutsch said.

“This is a massive opportunity for us,” Deutsch said. “It eliminated all of our overhead and puts us in a more efficient building. I wish I could shake my great-grandfather’s hand for having the great idea to build on Miller Park Way.”

Greywolf is reportedly planning to demolish the Deutsch & Sons’s West Milwaukee building to build a retail development on the site. Greywolf Partners Inc., was also the developer for the Miller Park Shoppes, 2086-2094 Miller Park Way.
