Days Inn near downtown to open in September

Organizations:

The Days Inn hotel under construction at 1840 N. 6th St., just north of downtown Milwaukee, will open in mid-September.

The hotel, also called "Hotel of the Arts," is being developed by Pat Prabhu and Karl Rajani, who are redeveloping the former Jackson Center Nursing Home into the 79-room hotel. Original artwork by Nicolas Cascarano will adorn the walls of the hotel, which will also host various art exhibits and musical performances during the year.

The building was designed by Milwaukee-based Arquitectura Inc.

The renovation project includes the addition of a fourth floor of suites to the three-story building.

For business travelers, the hotel will have wi-fi throughout, a business center and conference rooms. The hotel will also have a restaurant providing late night room service.

"The Hotel of the Arts is located within close proximity to area businesses, colleges, the Bradley Center and other entertainment facilities," said Jacquelynne Barret, the hotel’s director of marketing. "Culture, comfort, customer service and desired amenities, guests will enjoy more than a stay, they will enjoy an experience."
