The Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation recently surpassed its Beyond Medicine campaign fundraising goal by raising more than $42 million to support treatments and technology throughout the Columbia St. Mary’s Health System. The campaign was started in 2005.
“The Columbia St. Mary’s community is a family.  And that family came together in a powerful way to ensure outstanding care for mind, body and spirit, delivered with passion and compassion by an unparalleled team of health care clinicians,”  said Michael Grebe, chairman of the Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation board of directors.  “The Beyond Medicine campaign, builds on a 162-year Columbia St. Mary’s tradition of philanthropy that benefits the entire community with the best possible health care outcomes, delivered in the safest and most comfortable environment, while also tending to those in need.”
The completion of the Columbia St. Mary’s east side hospital was an outcome of the Foundation’s Beyond Medicine campaign, Grebe said.
The funds from the campaign also helped build the five-story bed tower and complete renovations at the Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Ozaukee and supported the move and expansion of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Dental Clinic.
“Private funding for hospitals has always been important – most hospitals were originally built with private, often faith-based donations – and it’s more critical now than ever, said Lisa Froemming, president and chief executive officer of Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation. ” Donor support helps us realize our mission and provide care with a special concern for those who are vulnerable.”
The Beyond Medicine campaign was co-chaired by Polly and William Van Dyke III, Daniel McKeithan, Jr., Randall Perry and Jane Schroeder.
We are indebted to the Beyond Medicine honorary co-chairs Polly H. and William D. Van Dyke, III; and co-chairs Daniel F. McKeithan, Jr., Randall M. Perry and Jane Schroeder.
