The Iron Horse Hotel was recently named the 10th best hotel in the nation by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
For its annual Readers Choice Awards, Conde Nast surveys its 28,876 readers, who cast more than 8 million votes in several different lodging categories.
In its top 200 hotels in the United States list, the Iron Horse came in 10th place in the reader survey. The top vote-getter in that category was the Elysian Hotel in Chicago.
Conde Nast readers ranked the Iron Horse ahead of several well-know U.S. luxury hotels, including: Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park (22nd), Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York (32nd), Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows (34th), Bellagio in Las Vegas (56th), The Plaza in New York (60th) and the Venetian in Las Vegas (66th).
The Iron Horse hotel opened in 2008. It is a 100-room boutique luxury hotel that was built as an adaptive reuse of a 104-year-old former warehouse building located at 500 W. Florida St. in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood, just south of downtown.
The hotel was developed by Milwaukee-based Dixon Development LLC.
