CCI is owned and run by Chris Carter.

Chapter 128 is a state receivership process which functions much like federal bankruptcy laws. The process includes the appointment of an independent third-party receiver, and allows for the sale of a company out of receivership to meet some of its financial obligations.

CCI has run into a plethora of financial problems in recent weeks, as several subcontractors have contacted BizTimes Milwaukee, complaining they are owed thousands of dollars by CCI.

Carter told BizTimes Milwaukee the problems began when he landed a contract to perform SAP software consulting for a large international corporation. Carter said he then hired subcontractors to perform the work, but the corporation did not fulfill its obligations, leaving him to owe money to the subcontractors.

At least one subcontractor, Jason Johnson, filed a legal Demand for Arbitration request in the state of Washington, claiming Carter owes him $33,544 for services provided, according to documents obtained by BizTimes Milwaukee.

CCI has numerous awards for its significant growth since Carter founded the company in 2002. CCI company was a Master Mettle winner, meaning it was named to the Future 50 list of the fastest-growing companies in the region by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and its Council of Small Business Executives.

CCI also ranked 174th on Inc. magazine’s 2008 list of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the United States.

Court records indicate two civil cases were won against CCI in January and February this year, one for about $6,000 and another for more than $15,000.

Carter said his company’s problems have spilled over into his personal finances.

CCI had marketed itself as "one of the most experienced SAP solutions firms in the United States." The company is based in Milwaukee at 2156 S. Fourth St. and had expanded to open offices in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
