Madison-based Noble Chef Hospitality has announced that it will open its first Milwaukee restaurant, to be called Rare Steakhouse, in the 17-story office tower that Irgens is building at 833 E. Michigan St. in downtown Milwaukee.
Irgens has said that it wanted to attract a “white tablecloth” restaurant to the ground floor of the building, called 833 East.
Rare Steakhouse will be a steak and seafood restaurant that will feature in-house dry aged Allen Brothers steaks and more than 400 different wines.

Schlitz Park expansion plans add momentum to booming section of downtown
Schlitz Park developer Gary Grunau recently announced plans for a $76 million, multi-phase, mixed-use expansion he says will add 290,000 square feet of office space, a 142-room hotel and 140 apartments to the complex just north of downtown Milwaukee over the next five years.
The first phase of the Schlitz Park expansion will be a conversion of 50,000 square feet of warehouse space, formerly occupied by Assurant Health, in the Schlitz Park Rivercenter building into office space. The second phase would convert some existing space and add a four-story addition to the Powerhouse building, which would create an additional 80,000 square feet of office space. Schlitz Park also plans to build a four-story, 160,000-square-foot office space expansion on top of the four-story Rivercenter building, add a hotel along the Milwaukee River between the ManpowerGroup corporate headquarters and the Time Warner Cable building, and develop apartments on a vacant site north of Pleasant Street between North First and Second streets.

The new way to retire
Over the past eight years, traditional Wall Street investments have left many investors delaying their retirement or dramatically changing their retirement plans.
Perhaps this happened to you or someone you know. The Great Recession has shown many nearing retirement that they can no longer blindly put their retirement accounts at the mercy of the volatile whims of Wall Street. Most people simply do not have the luxury of time to recover from a 50 percent reduction in their account value.

Home is where the firehouse is
The same walls that Melvina Kleverova Zilliox now calls home a century ago housed a cohort of firemen ready to come to Milwaukee's rescue.
Kleverova Zilliox, design director for general merchandise at Harley-Davidson Motor Co., and her husband, Michael Zilliox, live in an Italianate-style firehouse located in Milwaukee's Martin Drive Neighborhood. Throughout the last seven years of owning the 101-year-old house, which sits within walking distance of Kleverova Zilliox's workplace, the couple has devoted many of their weeks to do-it-yourself renovation projects that draw out the “old world” charm of the house while adding in “modern convenience,” she said.
