As health and human services agencies throughout Waukesha County continue stretching tight budgets around increased demands for services, a new alliance is swooping in to ensure their future vitality.

West side of downtown on verge of transformation

The west side of downtown Milwaukee (located west of the Milwaukee River) has struggled for years as class A office space development has clustered on the east side of downtown. The west side of downtown has lower class office space with a high vacancy rate.

Thiensville CORE-idor

A major corner in downtown Thiensville will undergo a facelift this summer when a Himalayan-flavored restaurant will open at 105 S. Main St. and the headquarters for CORE Consulting LLC will move to 107 W. Buntrock Ave., next to the restaurant.

Milwaukee’s Finest campaign bests fundraising goal

After 10 weeks of creative fundraising, Milwaukee's Finest honorees contributed more than $49,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-Wisconsin Chapter to advance both its fight against cystic fibrosis and its support of affected families.

New store

Organic grocery store Good Harvest Market plans to build a new 23,000-square-foot store about a quarter mile west of its existing 12,000-square-foot store at 1850 Meadow Lane in Waukesha.

$642 million

The Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau estimates that the state is facing a structural deficit for the 2015-17 budget of $642 million. The deficit estimates how much in additional revenue, spending cuts or both the state would have to make for a balanced budget under current conditions.
