Legislator wants audit of public bonds for Marriott hotel project
State Sen. Lena Taylor, D-Milwaukee, on Tuesday issued a request for an audit of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority’s (WHEDA) allocation of $43.5 million Midwest Disaster Area bonds for Jackson Street Management LLC’s $54 million, 204-room Marriott hotel development, which is currently under construction southwest of Wisconsin Avenue and Milwaukee Street in downtown Milwaukee.
Grand Avenue adds three new tenants
The Shops of Grand Avenue in downtown Milwaukee recently added three new tenants to the western half of the mall.
Sports World will occupy 1,730 square feet, Cream City Soap Company will occupy 1,675 square feet and Boss Chick Clothing will occupy 1,496 square feet. All three will open in mid-October.

Willis North America to move Milwaukee area office to Brookfield
Willis North America, a unit of London-based Willis Group Holdings, a global insurance broker, announced today that it plans to move its Milwaukee area office from 2323 N. Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa, to a 26,000-square-foot office space at 400 N. Executive Dr. in Brookfield. The new office will open on Oct. 29.
