STEVENS POINT – New jail facility could start construction in 2015

The county could start construction on a new jail facility as early as 2015, but county leaders still have no plan for what the facility will look like, where it will be, how much it will cost or how they will pay for it.

A vacant 0.4-acre site at 200-216 S. Broadway in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward sold recently for $2 million, according to state records. Chicago Street Holdings LLC purchased the property from Term-Broadway LLC.

Redevelopment of another historic building at the former Pabst brewery complex is expcted to begin this fall.

Another industrial building planned in Pewaukee

Brookfield-based real estate development firm 2000 Development Corp. plans to build a 120,000-square-foot, multi-tenant industrial building on an 11-acre site at the northeast corner of Commerce Circle and Watertown Road in the city of Pewaukee.
The firm hopes to break ground on the project this fall or in the spring of 2014, said Brandon Bergman, president of 2000 Development Corp.
