Clear Water Outdoor to open store in Third Ward

Clear Water Outdoor, an outdoor clothing and gear store with locations in Lake Geneva and Delafield, plans to open a store in the City of Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward neighborhood.

Residence Inn by Marriott hotel downtown sold for $23.9 million

Minneapolis-based CSM Corp. recently purchased the 131-suite Residence Inn by Marriott hotel at 648 N. Plankinton Ave. in downtown Milwaukee for $23.86 million, according to state records. The hotel was sold by New York-based Investcorp International Inc.

Kahler Slater honored as ‘Great Place to Work’

For the 11th consecutive year, Great Place to Work has honored architecture and experience design firm Kahler Slater as one of the best small companies to work for in the United States.
The firm has 114 employees and offices in Milwaukee, Madison and Singapore.

Chick-fil-A to open Brookfield restaurant

The first free-standing Chick-fil-A restaurant in Wisconsin will open Thursday, Sept. 18, at 12625 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield. The Brookfileld restaurant has 80 employees, seating for 100 indoors and 32 outdoors.

Lavelle Industries to expand Whitewater factory

Burlington-based Lavelle Industries Inc. announced that it plans to expand its Whitewater production facility by purchasing 2.5 acres of land adjacent to the 25,000-square-foot existing facility at 1215 E. Universal Boulevard.

Metro Milwaukee home sales down 2.2% in August

Home sales in the four county metro Milwaukee area were down 2.2 percent in August, the eighth consecutive month of fewer home sales year-over-year, according to the latest report from the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors.

Feker plans downtown Hartland restaurant
