Several Milwaukee-area manufacturers will open their doors on Friday in honor of Manufacturing Day, an annual celebration of manufacturing in North America.
Harley recalls over 106,000 motorcycles in U.S. for clutch, fuel tank problems
Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Motor Co. has issued a recall for 126,978 Touring motorcycles from the 2014 model year because of a potential issue with clutches. Of that number, 105,746 were shipped to the U.S.
Kohler Power names new group president
Tom Cromwell, president of Kohler Engines since 2009, has assumed responsibility for Kohler Co.’s worldwide power operations. He will report directly to David Kohler, president and chief operating officer.
Waukesha Metal Products wins national Manufacturing Day video contest
Sussex-based Waukesha Metal Products was named the grand prize winner for the first-ever Manufacturing Day video contest. Manufacturing Day, taking place on Friday, Oct. 3, is an annual celebration of manufacturing in North America, and its new video contest was a way for all organizations to share how they celebrate the day and why others should as well.
Allis-Roller moves to new facility in Franklin
Allis-Roller LLC has moved from its 43,000-square-foot facility at 9800 S. 60th St. in Franklin to a new 110,000-square-foot facility a quarter of a mile away at 5801 W. Franklin Dr. The company is leasing the building at an undisclosed price.
Trade conference to focus on Western Europe
Milwaukee-area businesses interested in learning more about exporting in Western Europe are invited to attend a free presentation hosted by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s World Trade Association on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 8 to 10 a.m.

Russian brewer acquires Pabst brand
A Russian beverage company said Thursday it is acquiring the Pabst Brewing Company, which produces Milwaukee legacy beer Pabst Blue Ribbon and other brands such as Colt 45 and Old Milwaukee.

Richco Structures will expand its Haven manufacturing facility and parent company Richardson Industries will move its headquarters to a downtown Sheboygan Falls building.
Lavelle Industries to expand Whitewater factory
Burlington-based Lavelle Industries Inc. announced that it plans to expand its Whitewater production facility by purchasing 2.5 acres of land adjacent to the 25,000-square-foot existing facility at 1215 E. Universal Boulevard.
