Global trade reps available to meet at Wisconsin International Trade Conference

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. has announced it will make its trade representatives for 16 international markets available for one-on-one meetings at the Wisconsin International Trade Conference on May 7.

MRA survey shows turnover high among Midwestern manufacturers

The full-time employee turnover rate among Midwestern manufacturing companies is about 18 percent, according to new survey from MRA-The Management Association.

Twin Disc recovers from loss

Racine-based Twin Disc Inc. today reported fiscal third quarter net income of $3 million, or 26 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $442,000, or four cents lost per share, in the third quarter of 2014.

Eaton Corp. shuts down Watertown product line

Ninety-three employees will be laid off at the Eaton Corp.'s Watertown facility as a result of the permanent discontinuation of its printed circuit boards product line. The layoffs are expected to begin June 30 and continue in phases through Dec. 31.

New hires and promotions

Pewaukee-based TLX Technologies LLC has hired Ken Gagne as a test engineer. He will work in conjunction with design engineers in the development and testing of new and current electromagnetic solutions engineered by TLX Technologies. Quad awarded $500 million, 20-title contract from Hearst Magazines

Sussex-based Quad/Graphics Inc. recently announced that it will continue to be the primary printer for Hearst Magazines' through 2020 under a new agreement valued at more than $500 million. Quad produces 20 of Hearst's 21 U.S. magazine titles, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, O, The Oprah Magazine, Popular Mechanics and Car and Driver, as well as inserts and custom print products.

Dowell to retire from Johnson Controls

Mary Dowell of Glendale-based Johnson Controls Inc. announced that she will be retiring on April 30. Dowell has served as vice president of foundation affairs & global community relations since 2003.
