After moving to a new 360,000-square-foot building in New Berlin last year, you might think that BuySeasons Inc. would take some time to settle in to its new corporate headquarters and distribution facility.

But, following the move in March of 2008, in August the online costume and decorations supply retailer acquired its largest competitor, Celebrate Express, which was an $80 million company with 300 employees in Greensboro, N.C.

The acquisition doubled the size of BuySeasons, and what was expected to be at least a two-year period when it grew into the new facility has now left it poised for another expansion, says Jamel Getz, president and founder of the online retailer.

“Depending on how things go, we expect that we will expand sooner rather than later,” Getz said. The facility was built with possible future expansion of up to 660,000 square feet total.

“Despite the retail environment, we continue to see very positive results, and continue our upward growth plan,” Getz said. “We are busting at the seams at this new facility. We are continuing our growth story, as we have a great value proposition to offer our customers.”

Launched by Getz in 1999, BuySeasons is a supplier of costumes, accessories, party supplies and seasonal décor for large and small Internet and brick and mortar retailers. It delivers its product via just-in-time wholesale replenishment and an award winning drop-ship program.

The company maintains one of the largest retail destinations on the Web for Halloween costumes, accessories, décor and party supplies at BuyCostumes.com.

With a roster of 400 regular employees (150 full-time, 250 part-time), the company ranks quadruple to about 1,600 from August to early November with the addition of  about 1,200 seasonal, part-time workers.
