Building Commission approves projects; Walker presents ‘Best Project’ award

The State of Wisconsin Building Commission today approved several projects across the state.

The approves projects include, but are not limited to:
•         Approval of the design report and authority to construct Phase II of the Student Athlete Performance Center project at UW-Madison.
•         Authority to construct a new well at the Southern Wisconsin Center in Union Grove
•         Authority to construct a new roofing project at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Plymouth.
 
Also at the State Building Commission meeting, Gov. Scott Walker presented the 2011 Division of State Facilities Best Project award to the design and construction team that created Centennial Hall, the new academic building on the UW-La Crosse campus.  It is the first new academic building on the campus since 1974.  The 185,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility houses 46 general access classrooms that served 485 separate courses in the fall semester.  It was delivered under budget and on schedule.
