WCTC to train TSA employees
Waukesha County Technical College was recently selected to deliver three courses to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees. The courses will enhance TSA workers awareness of issues surrounding homeland security and terrorism.
“This really is an incredible opportunity for us,” said Brian Dorow, associate dean of WCTC’s Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement program. “It is the first time we’ve trained federal government employees, and this really shows the respect our homeland security program has earned.”
The TSA employees, who work at General Mitchell International Airport will take three courses through WCTC’s Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement program. The courses, specifically geared toward TSA employees, take an in-depth look at issues that impact the public’s safety and security. Six WCTC instructors, with extensive knowledge and experience in homeland security, safety, intelligence and related areas, are facilitating the coursework.
“We are working diligently to build and deliver these important courses,” said Mark Stigler, a WCTC homeland security instructor. “These TSA employees are on the frontline, protecting our homeland and the national transportation system right here in Milwaukee every day.”
