*Thursday, Dec. 19, through Sunday, Dec. 22, the Milwaukee Ballet will continue its 2014 holiday productions of “The Nutcracker” at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, located at 929 N. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. *Friday, Dec. 20, the Milwaukee Press Club will hold a special Newsmaker Luncheon focused on the future of the financially troubled Milwaukee Symphony Orchesra (MSO). During the luncheon, MSO president and executive director Mark Niehaus will discuss the orchestra’s pressing need to raise $5 million in order to avoid folding. He will also expand on measures the orchestra is taking in the coming season to operate on a more sustainable business model. The Newsmaker Luncheon, which is open to the public, will run from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, located at 137 E. Wells St. in downtown Milwaukee. Cost to attend is $18 for press club members, $23 for non-members, and $13 for students. Lunch is included. Seating will be limited, and advanced registration and payment are required.
