*Thursday, Feb. 27, Newaukee will host a free social at the Milwaukee Public Market as part of its semi-weekly social events. The free events take Milwaukee professionals to happy hour venues across the city. The social at the Milwaukee Public Market will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live music, live art, complimentary appetizers, and specials from market vendors. The first 50 attendees will receive a $5 gift card to use at the market. The Milwaukee Public Market is located at 400 N. *Monday, March 3, JCI Greenfield will host a “Young Leaders Mix & Mingle” at Bar Louie, located at 1114 N. Water St. in downtown Milwaukee. The event will provide a networking opportunity for young professionals and is open to young professionals of all career paths. The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free to attend. *Thursday, March 13, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and FUEL Milwaukee will host a “Leadership Luncheon” with Vivian King, vice president, community relations for Aurora Healthcare. During the luncheon, which is part of a luncheon series presented by the MMAC and FUEL Milwaukee, King will trace her career from broadcast reporter to corporate spokeswoman to head of community relations. She will also touch on what community has come to mean for her. The luncheon will run from noon to 1 p.m. at the Aurora Sinai Medical Center, Building A, Lower Level, Rapkin Auditorium, located at 950 N. 12th St. in Milwaukee. Cost is $12 for MMAC and FUEL members and $25 for non-members. A special $50 membership package is also available for attendees interested in becoming FUEL members. *Thursday, March 13, the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will hold a mayoral forum for the two candidates running for mayor in the City of Brookfield and a forum for the two contested county board seats in Brookfield. In the mayor’s race, incumbent Steven Ponto will face off against Jeff Speaker. In the county board seat race, district 9 incumbent Jim Heinrich will face off against Michael Starich and for district 8, incumbent Patricia Haukohl will face off against Eric Highum. The mayoral and county board general election will be April 1, 2014. The mayoral forum will be held at the City of Brookfield Safety Building, 2100 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, on Thursday, March 13, from 7 to 8 p.m. The county board seat forum will be held immediately following, from 8 to 9 p.m. The Chamber will accept questions, submitted in advance via email, for the candidates. Questions must be sent to Carol White at carol@brookfieldchamber.com with the word “FORUM” in the subject line. Time permitting, questions will also be accepted in writing the night of the event.
