  • Wednesday, Sept. 28 The Grandville Browndeer Chamber of Commerce will host a Networking After Five Jazz’n More event at the VMP Trinity East End Café, 7300 West Dean Road in Milwaukee from 5 to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy live jazz by "Joe & Janice,” a regional Wisconsin group that performs all over the Midwest at the finest weddings, festivals, clubs, casinos, fairs, private and public events. free beer, wine, soft drinks and appetizers will be provided.   • Wednesday, Sept. 28 Arts @ Large will host a book launch celebration for NOVA students at its new gallery space, 908 S. Fifth St. from 4 to 6 p.m.  The event, titled: "Our Milwaukee: One City, Many Souls will feature poetry and photography done by NOVA middle and high school students that tells a story of our great city. There will also be a live poetry reading by poetry club members and attendees will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for the chance to win a free copy of "Our Milwaukee: One City, Many Souls". Light appetizers will be served.

  • Thursday, Sept. 29 The Milwaukee Ballet will kick off its performance of Dracula with a haunting masquerade bash at Shaker’s Cigar Bar, 422 S. Second St. The event will kick off Milwaukee Ballet’s upcoming season opener. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and admission is free for guests wearing a costume or mask.   • Thursday, Sept. 29 The Medical College of Wisconsin will host a Women in Science luncheon event at the Women’s Club of Wisconsin, 813 E. Kilbourne Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Michelle Johnson, Ph.D., an associate professor in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at The Medical College of Wisconsin, will share the very personal story behind her research in stroke rehabilitation.  Johnson’s grandmother suffered a stroke, and after that, Johnson focused her research on developing robotics to assist stroke patients with their rehabilitation.  Johnson is working on several prototypes at her lab at the Zablocki VA Medical Center.  Series subscriptions are available for a suggested donation of $250, which supports an annual award for promising women scientists.   • Thursday, Oct. 6 BMA Milwaukee will host a special member benefit at SPiN Milwaukee on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free for current BMA members or $20 for nonmembers. Light appetizers, a cash bar and ping pong will be available. In order to plan for food reservations are required.

  • Thursday, Oct. 13 Sales Progress LLC and Biztimes Media LLC will host SalesFest, a full-day of training workshops demonstrating the latest tools and strategies in selling, social media and marketing. The event will be held at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, 758 N.
