  • Thursday, July 21 unGeeked Edu and Kaplan University will launch the first session of classes dedicated to earning it’s Developing Social Media Strategies Certificate. The 10-week development course is designed to enhance the knowledge of employees and professionals in the field of social media and marketing. Courses can be taken individually for $175 per person or $1800 for the 10-week session.   • Thursday, July 21 Safe Kids Southeast Wisconsin Coalition, led by Children’s Health Education Center will host a free booster and car seat safety check from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bell Ambulance, 1647 N. Fourth St in Milwaukee. Certified car seat technicians will assist families to make sure car seats are properly installed and appropriate for the age and size of the child.   • Wednesday, July 27 The Waukesha County Business Alliance will host its annual The Big One golf outing at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex. Registration will begin at 9:45 a.m. and golf will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Dinner and networking along with an awards ceremony will be provided after golf. Registration is $150 per golfer or $600 for a foursome.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 3 The Wisconsin Seasonal Workforce Coalition will host Milwaukee Job Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Zoofari Conference Center, 10001 W. Bluemound Road in Wauwatosa. Job seekers will have the opportunity to speak with Milwaukee-area employers that have immediate hiring needs, some of which will offer on-site interviews at JobFest. Other activities offered to attendees include interactive workshops, job search contests and raffles.   • Monday, August 8th.  7:00 p.m. The Next Chapter Bookshop in Mequon will host an Author Event featuring John Gruesser, PhD and his latest book “A Century of Detection.”  Gruesser was born and raised in Milwaukee with post-graduate work at UW-Madison.  A Century of Detection is an Anthology of 20 great mystery stories from authors such as Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allen Poe, Mark Twain and others.  Gruesser provides information about the authors and insight into each story.  The author will speak briefly and be available for book signing and conversation.  Please attend this free event and find out more at www.nextchapterbookshop.com  or call 262-241-6220.
