  • Monday, Dec. 7 MKELive and its strategic partners will host its holiday celebration at Cuvee, 177 N. Broadway, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cuvee offers more than 100 varieties of champagne and sparkling wine, and the event will include live music from the Keith Sarnow Trio, drink mixing lessons, raffles and a champagne toast. The event will also serve as a Toys for Tots drop off location. Attendees that bring a new toy to the MKELive holiday gala will be entered into a special drawing for tickets to the Bucks, Admirals and Wave games.   • Monday, Dec. 7 Milwaukee hosts Women on Boards event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel from 3 until 6 p.m. The annual panel is designed to educate and prepare women for board service. Panel discussions will focus on being an effective board member, how to position one self to serve on a board and how to transition from serving on non-profit boards to for profit boards. An interactive Q&A and reception will follow. Milwaukee panelists include: Gail Lione, EVP, General Counsel & Secretary, Harley-Davidson, Inc. and president, The Harley-Davidson Foundation, Inc; Kathryn Hasselblad-Pascale, managing partner of Hasselblad Machine Company, LLP; and Tina Chang, CEO, SysLogic, Inc.   • Thursday Dec. 10 The winners have been chosen for the sixth annual BizTimes Milwaukee Health Care Hero awards. Award winners will be honored at a breakfast event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wauwatosa from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Co anchor and news reporter for WISN channel 12 Patrick Paolantonio will moderate the event.   • Thursday, Dec. 10 Clifton Gunderson will present a free webinar for chief financial officers, plan administrators and human resource professionals entitled Employee Benefits Update: two challenges, two solutions for 2010.   • Saturday, Dec. 12 Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport will host a free party for families of Wisconsin Army National Guards from 11a.m.until 3:00 p.m.. The event will include free skyping for families with their loved one, Santa Claus, free toys, snacks and beverages. The hotel is also a collection point for donations for homeless veterans.
  • Thursday, Dec 17 The Milwaukee Press Club’s next Newsmaker Luncheon will take place at the NewsRoom Pub, 137 E. Wells St. from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will feature a discussion on the year ahead in Wisconsin politics. The featured Newsmakers will be Michael Tate, chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, and Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. The Newsmakers will discuss the 2010 elections, including the Wisconsin gubernatorial race. Cost to attend is $15 for press club members, $20 for non-members and $10 for students.
