Black Bear Bottling Group LLC plans to expand its two facilities in Oak Creek.

The company makes and bottles beverages for regional and national brands. It has glass, plastic and bag-in-box filling capabilities.

Black Bear plans to expand the 31,000-square-foot building at 9770 S. 20th St. by 15,000 square feet, said Kari Papelborn, Oak Creek planner. It first must get permission from the city to combine its adjacent properties there.

“After it’s combined it’ll be just under three acres,” she said. “The smaller lot is about an acre.”

And the company plans to expand the building across the street, at 2025 W. Southbranch Blvd., by 18,000 square feet, Papelborn said. It will be used mostly for warehouse space.

The City of Oak Creek Plan Commission will review Black Bear’s plans for the expansion at its meeting tomorrow.

Black Bear has about 28 employees and is hoping to add three to five more after the expansion, Papelborn said.

The company has not responded to requests for comment for several months.
