Core Creative Inc.

Core Creative Inc., Milwaukee, recently received several awards in the health care advertising field. As part of the 2008 Aster Awards, which appeared in Marketing Healthcare Today, Core received two Gold awards. Core was also presented with one Gold award and three Merit awards at the 25th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report. Core Creative received an Aster Gold award for its work on the “We See You Differently” Annual Report for Beloit Memorial Hospital. Core also received an Aster Gold award for its work with Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers for a “New Mover” direct mailer created to welcome newcomers to the community and introduce the health system’s services and locations. At the Healthcare Advertising Awards, Core Creative won another Gold award for the same “New Mover” direct mailer for Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. The Healthcare Advertising Awards also recognized Core Creative with three Merit awards. Two merit awards were given for work produced for Beloit Memorial Hospital, including a radio advertising series and total advertising campaign. Another merit recognition was awarded for a single ad developed to promote the grand opening of Morris Hospital’s Channahon Health Center.

P&H Mining Equipment

P&H Mining Equipment Company, Milwaukee, recently earned the Orion Energy Systems Environmental Stewardship Award due to a recent lighting change that resulted in substantial environmental benefits by reducing the amount of electric power that the company uses. Orion presents the awards to companies that achieve significant environmental benefits through the use of Orion products and systems. P&H replaced 521 465-watt high-pressure sodium and conventional fluorescent fixtures with the same number of Orion high-intensity fluorescent fixtures. By doing so, P&H is expected to decrease lighting power usage 47 percent, from an annual 1,609,269 kilowatt-hours (kWh) to 845,702, a savings of 763,567 per year. The savings will allow P&H to pay for the energy system in less than 2 years. P&H anticipates about $57,000 in annual savings on lighting and cooling costs.

Prime Leather Finishes

Milwaukee-based Prime Leather Finishes Company recently announced it has formed a strategic alliance with the international technology and manufacturing company, 3M Company, St. Paul, Minn., to manufacture and market protective coatings for a variety of leather products. These new products, designed to protect shoes, furniture and other leather goods from oil, water and other liquid stains will feature the Scotchgard Protector brand and be made available to both the leather goods manufacturer and retail markets. The new PLF formulation will rely on “next generation” 3M fluorochemical technology, part of a broad class of materials critical to the development of high-quality, high performance materials that repel soils and stains effectively.

Rishi Tea

Winning seven first place awards, more than double the amount of any other contestant, Rishi Tea, a Milwaukee based tea seller, led the pack at the first annual World Tea Championship at the 2008 World Tea Expo. More than 300 teas were submitted by dozens of the world’s leading tea growers and tea brands for evaluation and rating by a select group of the tea industry’s leading tea experts. All seven First Place Awards were captured by Rishi Tea’s organic teas.

ACUITY

The International Insurance Institute, Inc. has honored ACUITY, Sheboygan, with its first-ever Loyalty Award. The institute provides claims training and related services to the insurance industry. The award is given to a company that demonstrates a high level of dedication to claims education but has also been a supporter of the institute’s efforts to deliver claims training. The Claims Education Conference held by the International Insurance Institute is the only one that is entirely focused on claims handling education and that emphasizes claims customer service. In addition, ACUITY recently surpassed 80,000 commercial lines policies in force, its companywide policy count increase set a record in 2007 at 8.3 percent and its quote hit ratio in commercial lines has never been higher.

J. P. Cullen  & Sons, Inc.

J. P. Cullen & Sons, Janesville, will renovate two schools this summer, Hamilton High School gymnasium in Sussex and Whitnall Middle School in Greenfield. Both projects will be managed out of the company’s Brookfield office. The Hamilton High School gymnasium project will add new acoustical panels, lighting, and a sound system, and spruce up the restrooms with new paint and fixtures. The project will be completed in August 2008. The Whitnall Middle School project will include a new canopy and storefront at the main entrance and the relocation and renovation of the administrative offices, 6th grade classrooms, and the art room. It will be done in two phases of construction over the next two summers and will be completed in August 2009.

Aurora Health Care

Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, was recently recognized as the recipient of the second annual Supply Chain Innovation Award presented by the Premier Healthcare Alliance. Aurora received two of the four awards presented and is one of only three of Premier’s 2,000 members to receive the award. The Supply Chain Innovation Award recognizes successful innovations that have created new levels of performance and competitive advantage while improving patient care and safely reducing costs. The Supply Chain Innovation Award also recognizes organizations that have worked with Premier to implement improvement ideas throughout the Premier membership. Winning ideas, such as new products, programs, services, processes and tools, must be in place and already creating value to be considered for the award.

Schroeder Moving Systems

Schroeder Moving Systems, New Berlin, employees Bob Marks and George Brown were honored as 2008 Masters Club Winners for sales excellence, while Customer Service Manager Tammy Cerroni was recognized with the Heart of Quality award for outstanding customer service.

Sandler Training

Greater Milwaukee Area Sandler Training recently opened a new office in Glendale. The new Milwaukee office is located at 500 W. Silver Spring Drive, Suite K-200. The location is part of Sandler Training’s network of over 200 trainers and consultants throughout the USA and Canada, and is headed by Erica Bennett, a former small business owner that has also worked in Fortune 500 companies across the country. Founded in 1967 Sandler Training serves businesses of all sizes with short and long-term programs that offer continuous coaching, counseling and support for sales professionals. Programs include corporate training conducted on a company-by company basis as well as general training that brings together business owners, managers and sales people from a variety of industries at a central site. The curriculum combines instruction in gut-level selling and other strategies for controlling a sale with emphasis on the psychology of sales, ranging from the use of reverse psychology to developing a successful sales personality.
