Public Policy Forum
Public Policy Forum, Milwaukee, received a first place award in the Outstanding Policy Achievement category from the Governmental Research Association (GRA), Birmingham, Ala. Public Policy Forum was recognized for its research on economic development in the Milwaukee region. The research included studies that were part of the Public Policy Forum’s One Region, One Future campaign that ran for three years and emphasized the need for cooperation among the seven counties of southeastern Wisconsin. Two years after launching the campaign, the Milwaukee 7 (M7) was created by area businesses partnering with southeastern Wisconsin governments to present a unified economic development approach to businesses looking to expand in the region. 

Waukesha County Museum

The Waukesha County Museum, Waukesha, received a $1,500 donation from the Waukesha 1834 Club. The gift will be used toward an exhibit focusing on Waukesha’s Springs Era, when people traveled to the area to drink what many believed was curative waters. The exhibit is currently under development and will open in 2008.

Data Dog Interactive Marketing
Data Dog Interactive Marketing, Milwaukee, was selected to develop online, interactive sales promotion strategies and creative for Sun-Times Media Group Inc., Chicago. Sun-Times Media Group owns about 100 newspapers in the Chicago area, including the Chicago Sun-Times.

ATL Pharma Security Label Systems

ATL Pharma Security Label Systems, a division of Ad Tape & Label Co. Inc., Menomonee Falls, entered a 10-year contract with IDGlobal Corp., Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. As part of the agreement, ATL Pharma Security Label Systems will incorporate IDGlobal’s nano-molecular marking technologies into any of its labeling solutions to provide protection against counterfeit labels. ATL Pharma Security Label Systems launched a new line of anti-counterfeiting labels with overt and covert tamper-resistant features available on single ply and multi-panel labels, including Secur-Book, Pharma-Void, Secur-Detek and Secur-Mark.

Nicole Isler, owner of You Can Fly Coaching, will share office space with Anne Wondra, owner of WonderSpirit Resources Inc., Waukesha, at Kindred Spirit Coaching & Wellness, located at 2312 N. Grandview Blvd., Suite 101 in Waukesha.

Medical College of Wisconsin
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Md., awarded a five-year, $4.6 million grant to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, to establish a Research Center of Excellence in Pediatric Nephrology at Children’s Research Institute. The center would be the second in the U.S., expediting treatments for genetic, acquired or progressive kidney disease. Dr. Ellis Avner, a professor of pediatrics, associate dean for research at the Medical College and director of Children’s Research Institute, will serve as principal investigator of the program. Richard Roman, professor of physiology and pediatrics and director of the Kidney Disease Center at the Medical College, will serve as associate director of the center.

Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital
The Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Wauwatosa, received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Tucson, Ariz. The programs receiving accreditation include the brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, general rehab and outpatient neuro rehab programs. The CARF accreditation process focuses on evaluating outcomes, quality care and the satisfaction of the patients.

Shakespeare Wealth Management Inc.
Kevin Reardon, owner and president of Shakespeare Wealth Management Inc., Brookfield, joined the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Arlington Heights, Ill. NAPFA membership is only granted to fee-only advisers who are paid directly by their clients.
Shakespeare Wealth Management recently became a registered investment advisor with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Washington, D.C. SEC registered advisors are required to adhere to a high level of compliance guidelines. Registration includes advisors who surpass an asset base of $25 million under management.

Catral Doyle Creative Co., Milwaukee, was selected by the Be SMART coalition, a partnership of 34 Wisconsin municipalities, to create a communications campaign to promote statewide recycling and waste reduction.
Crescent Cardboard LLC, Wheeling, Ill., selected Catral Doyle to develop a new branding campaign and help launch a new product line.
