Briggs & Stratton Corp.

Briggs & Stratton Corp., Milwaukee, and Rheem Manufacturing Co., Atlanta, have partnered to offer a Rheem-branded standby generator program to its heating, ventilating and air conditioning distribution network. The new residential standby generator program combines Briggs & Stratton’s product development, manufacturing and generator expertise with Rheem’s HVAC sales, installation, service and parts distribution network. The Rheem home back-up power generator system incorporates advanced computer controls that manage the same high-wattage appliances as a larger liquid-cooled standby generator nearly twice its size while using less fuel.

High Velocity Communications Inc.

High Velocity Communications Inc., Waukesha, was selected by Gencor Industries Inc., Orlando, Fla., to publish a quarterly magazine that will be distributed to its customers and prospects in the hot mix asphalt industry. Gencor Industries manufactures hot mix asphalt plants, soil remediation plants, combustion systems and screening equipment for the road and highway construction industry. Gencor Innovations is a 20-page, full-color publication featuring customer success stories, new technology, product focus features, product service and support, historical milestones and customer lifestyle features.

The Networking Community Inc.

The Networking Community Inc. (TNC), Menomonee Falls, expanded its networking group offering to Sheboygan. The first group launched in March and TNC plans to expand the model in the Sheboygan area. The primary objective of TNC networking groups is to increase company awareness through relationship building, referrals and education. Members of TNC represent their industry within their networking group and receive ways to promote their business, education to improve networking skills and peer coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Petrie & Stocking S.C.

Attorney Dan Miske was promoted to president of Petrie & Stocking S.C., Milwaukee, succeeding Jim Petrie, who served as president for the last 20 years. Petrie will continue to practice with the firm and will serve as chairman of the board of directors. John Stocking will serve as vice chairman. Miske focuses his practice on condominium law. He has been practicing law since 1985.

Integrity Retirement Plan Services LLC

PS Capital Partners LLC, Milwaukee, selected Integrity Retirement Plan Services LLC, Waukesha, as the third party administrator for its retirement plan.

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation

The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, Milwaukee, awarded more than $2.4 million in local grants during the first quarter, supporting Milwaukee-area art, education, economic development and grassroots civic organizations. Among the grants were: $250,000 to the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise to support the Violence Free Zone initiative in Milwaukee Public Schools; $500,000 was awarded to Parents Advancing Values in Education Inc. (PAVE), Milwaukee, to support both scholarships and the Capital Investment Program for Choice schools and $125,000 was granted to Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth Inc., Madison. Other grants included $110,000 to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee; $50,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Milwaukee; $50,000 to the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center; $50,000 to the Grand Avenue Club, Milwaukee, and $40,000 to Hope Street Ministries, Milwaukee.

Children’s Hospital and Health System Foundation

Children’s Hospital and Health System Foundation, Wauwatosa, received a $69,000 gift from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin Inc., Wauwatosa, to improve services for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, located across the street from Children’s Hospital. Overnight accommodations are available for families of children receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment at Children’s Hospital. Children’s Hospital refers more than 500 families to the Ronald McDonald House each year.

The Printery Inc.

The Printery Inc., New Berlin, has been certified as a supplier for the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Washington D.C. The FSC is a non-profit organization that promotes responsible management of forests.

As an FSC supplier, The Printery is an active participant in a chain of custody, along with forest land owners and paper mills, that closes the loop on responsible forest management.

North Shore Bank

North Shore Bank, Brookfield, will sponsor the Village of Sussex’s 2007 Fourth of July activities, including the annual Kiddie Parade and fireworks. The Village of Sussex’s Fourth of July activities will begin with the Kiddie Parade, which starts at the Village Hall and ends at the Village Park where an ice cream social will take place. Thousands of people from throughout the area view the fireworks display each year.
Waukesha Chapter of Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers

The Waukesha Chapter of the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) awarded Katie Jelacic, project engineer for the City of Waukesha, with the Engineer of the Year Award and Chris Stamborski, project engineer for R.A. Smith & Associates, Brookfield, with the Young Engineer of the Year Award. Individuals who are named to receive this award are recognized by their peers for their outstanding performance in engineering and their ability and willingness to serve the engineering profession as leaders to the future.

 

Guthrie & Frey opens new showroom in Delafield

Guthrie & Frey Water Conditioning of Wales, Wis., is expanding and has opened a new location in Delafield at 528 Wells St.

The company said the new office will enable it to better serve its clients with a centralized location in Lake Country. The building has an expanded showroom and meeting area, enabling clients to discuss their projects and see their water conditioning options.

Guthrie & Frey Inc., the company’s well pump division, will continue operations out of the Wales office.

In addition to the new location, Guthrie & Frey has added additional full-time staff to assist customers in person and over the phone. The company is co-owned by Sue and Rob Frey. Additional information is available at www.makingacleardifference.com.
