CC&N

CC&N, Pewaukee, has enhanced its technical and trouble-shooting support for Avaya’s line of business voice systems. Avaya is the world’s leading supplier of business voice systems and the majority of CC&N’s voice communications clients use Avaya. To date, 10 CC&N technicians and engineers have completed the initial Avaya Support Model training course. Another 30 technicians are scheduled to attend training later this summer.

Rishi Tea

Milwaukee-based Rishi Tea was recently named the winner best new product – packaging for its line of Organic and Fair Trade Chai at the 23rd Annual Specialty Coffee Association of America event in Houston. Rishi Tea’s line of Chai retail tins was launched at the Milwaukee Public Market in October 2010. The line consists of five flavors: Masala, West Cape, Green Tea, Chocolate and Vanilla. The Specialty Coffee Event hosted over 8,000 people including coffee roasters, retailers, tea buyers, culinary professionals. Judges in the packaging category based their “Best New Packaging” decision on innovation, design and value to the industry. The Chai line was the beginning of an ongoing process to upgrade designs and continuously minimize the environmental impact of Rishi Tea’s retail packaging. All of Rishi Tea’s tins are now printed on “easy-peel” labels that can be removed, thereby allowing the tins to be reused or recycled efficiently. The labels feature hand drawn illustrations of the actual ingredients used in each of the chais.

GMR Marketing

GMR Marketing, New Berlin, was recently honored as the best in corporate consulting, marketing and client services at the 2011 Sports Business Awards in New York City. This is the second time in the last three years GMR Marketing has received a sports business award.

GMR was selected for the honor over five other finalists at the awards ceremony, which was sponsored by Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily. GMR was also recognized in 2009 as Sports Event Marketing Firm of the Year.

The Sports Business Awards were established in 2008 to celebrate and recognize the leaders, visionaries and day-to-day practitioners who personify excellence in the business of sports.

RitzHolman CPAs

Milwaukee-based RitzHolman CPAs, recently received the 2011-12 WICPA Public Service Award. The Public Service Award is given to a WICPA member firm which has distinguished itself in public service activities at the local, regional and state levels.

Eighty percent of the firm’s workforce gives back to numerous communities and dedicates thousands of volunteer hours annually to various nonprofits in Southeastern Wisconsin. In addition to its volunteer work, the firm serves more than 350 nonprofit clients. Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP

Madison-based Baker Tilly Virchow Krause was recently named one of the “Best Accounting Firms for Women.” The award, given in conjunction with the 2011 Accounting MOVE Project, is sponsored by the American Society of Women Accountants and the American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Firms were ranked on the range, depth and success of programs and workplace culture proven to remove barriers to women’s success, especially at midlevel and above. The MOVE methodology pivots on four factors – money, opportunity, vital support for work/life and entrepreneurship– known to advance women in the workplace.

Baker Tilly was recognized for its staying power at the top, with women accounting for 19 percent of its partners and principals. The firm’s Growth and Retention of Women (GROW) program is crystallizing its priority to retain high-potential women as they progress in their careers. GROW focuses on areas of career advancement, flexible work arrangements, mentoring, networking, and benefits.
