The emergence of digital, social and other technology-based marketing tools has impacted the marketing landscape significantly over the past decade.

Bill King, president of Waukesha-based King Innovative, was a partner in an IT service firm for 17 years, but his background was in marketing.

He grew his previous business from a single location with $35,000 in annual sales to a two-location company with a record profit of $1 million.

While it was never a goal of his to own his own company, he learned the nuances of growing a business from his experiences in IT, sales and marketing.

“In the year 2000, digital marketing was just starting to come into play. I started looking for something that would help with decision support in the marketing process. Something that would help weigh the cost and benefits of different solutions,” King said.

Not finding exactly what he was looking for, King started developing a process that allowed him to apply lean principles and business intelligence in his marketing approach.

In early 2012, King turned the static spreadsheets into a graphical, predictive user interface and started implementing the process with other companies.

King Innovative was born.

“We leverage these proven solutions to help our clients tie proposed marketing activities to future revenue goals and business value,” King said.

King has always been a self-motivator, and prides himself on doing business with honesty and integrity.

“Actions speak louder than words,” King said. “As a long-time Rotarian, I’m guided by the truth, a sense of fairness and goodwill towards clients, co-workers and the community.”
