The Democratic gubernatorial ticket is stressing its statewide focus in a year in which the race is very Milwaukee-centric.
Dem lieutenant governor candidate Tom Nelson in a new radio ad plays up the fact he’s not from the Milwaukee area. "And that is why I’m running – because northeast Wisconsin is too important not to have our voices heard in the next administration," Nelson says in the spot.
Nelson, the Assembly majority leader from Kaukauna, said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett has a proven track record of balancing budgets and creating jobs.
The GOP guv candidate, Scott Walker, is the Milwaukee County executive who lives in Wauwatosa while his running mate, Rebecca Kleefisch, is an Oconomowoc resident and former Milwaukee TV anchor.
