Coreen Dicus-Johnson, president of Wheaton Franciscan’s central Market before it merged with Ascension Health this spring, will assume the role on Oct. 1.

Wheaton Franciscan was acquired by Ascension on March 1. In December, a BizTimes cover story looked at several aspects of the merger and how patients and business owners could benefit, if executed correctly.

“Coreen’s experience in strategy, growing panel sizes and creating employer health plans will be key assets as she steps into her role at Network Health,” said Ascension Wisconsin ministry market leader and Network Health board of directors vice chair Bernie Sherry.

Dicus-Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from Marquette University and a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law.

“Coreen is a highly talented leader with extensive experience in hospital management, revenue cycle operations, payer contracting and health insurance products,” Froedtert Health president and chief executive office and Network Health board of directors chair Cathy Jacobson said. “She brings together a broad and diverse range of experiences from both the provider and the insurance sides of health care to this important leadership role at Network Health.”
